IREF Flood Relief

On August 15 2019, villages near IREF received torrential rainfall. Thousands of homes were flooded and farmers lost their crop. Though people were able to return to their homes, they have lost their food, cookware, blankets, and clothes. This is where IREF would like your help. As a ministry, we have committed to providing 2,000 families with a care package.

Let’s help 2,000 Families

On August 15 2019, villages near India Rural Evangelical received torrential rainfall. IREF churches in Pesalanka and Penamudi were filled with 5 feet of water. Thousands of homes were flooded and farmers lost their crop.

The local government has responded quickly and camps have been established for those currently without a home. Meals are being provided three times per day and mobile medical clinics are running.

As the week went on, the water receded and people were able to return to their homes. They have lost their food, cookware, blankets, and clothes. This is where IREF would like to help. As a ministry, we have committed to providing 2,000 families with a care package.

Each Package is only $10

This is a special opportunity for us to share the love of Christ with our hurting community. We are looking to raise funds for 2,000 relief packages for $10/package. Donations for this flood relief will be open for the month of September. IREF is moving forward in faith to purchase the 2,000 care packages, as the need is urgent.

The IREF care package will include:

  • 5kg rice
  • 1kg oil
  • 1kg dahl
  • 1kg onions
  • 1/4 kg turmeric
  • 1/4 kg chili powder
  • Salt package
  • Blanket
  • Clothing
  • Towel
  • Cookware (cooking bowl, 2 spoons, bucket, plate)

Our aim is to provide care packages for 2,000 families from the following villages:

  • Pesarlanka* 400 families
  • Pedalanka* 300 families
  • Juvvalapalem* 650 families
  • Kiskindapalem* 350 families
  • Penumudi* 300 families

*IREF has a Church and/or Child Development Center (after school program) in these villages

“IREF is the first response for natural disasters in our area. We are hoping this flood relief packages will help them until they can get on their feet again.”

“We are happy to be part of this relief work.  No other people are doing this type of relief work.  Even the government is not doing a flood campaign like what IREF is doing.”

“This relief effort IREF is doing in these villages will show support to the IREF communities in these devastated areas. We have to support our own people.”

“IREF is the first non-government representative to come see these families; not just see, but to provide for them outside of pre-designated, government aid.”

Help a family for just $10!
