Our Evangelistic Works

The transforming power of God is underneath all that we do at IREF and evangelism is at the heart of our mission. But Christians are facing aggression from Hindu organizations who believe that India belongs to Hinduism. These threats impact our evangelists and Bible ladies who fearlessly share the story of Jesus in remote villages. They often face persecution from their own families as well as the larger community. Still, they are the first to shepherd families and they continue teaching the children who return home from IREF’s main campus for the summer. They serve as leaders in the Child Development Centers (link to CDCs) and attend our yearly evangelical and training conferences. Traveling by foot or bicycle, this team of 250 has reached more than 400 towns and villages within a 200-mile radius of IREF’s Repalle headquarters. They love meeting with villagers, giving out Bibles and teaching the Gospel.

Church Planting

The seeds planted by our evangelists often grow into new churches. New believers begin gathering in a home in the village for fellowship. They share teachings and read the Bible together. As their community grows, IREF helps to construct a thatch-roof church, and eventually a church building. We have seen congregations as small as five grow to more than 100, with many people being baptized each week.

Crusades & Retreats

Each year, IREF hosts an annual Believer’s Retreat to encourage and cultivate the Word among new believers from IREF’s youth conferences and gospel meetings. The retreats also offer time for recharging and celebrating IREF evangelists and Bible ladies.

Each year, we host hundreds of new believers, and many pastors bring their congregations from miles and miles away to join in the retreat and the sharing of the Gospel.

IREF staff, evangelists and Bible ladies pray and fast for the Believer’s retreat during the week leading up to the event.

In addition, the messages shared at the Believer’s Retreat are recorded and air on TV throughout India, sparking calls for prayers request and encouragement for the ministry and those who are a part of it. At IREF, we praise God for the ability to spread our message to more and more believers.

IREF also hosts one-day seminars for pastors throughout India to motivate, empower and encourage pastors in their local ministry. God continues to open more doors for IREF to spread the Gospel throughout Andhra Pradesh.

Evangelists & Bible Ladies

As messengers of the Gospel, IREF’s devoted team of evangelists and Bible ladies dedicate their lives full time to living and sharing ministry.

IREF has more than 200 evangelists and Bible ladies who travel by bicycle or foot into remote villages in India, sharing the life-changing story of Jesus. They offer Bibles, education and the message of Christianity with villagers, helping them grow in God’s love and plant churches.

IREF’s dedicated team helps share the good news and good works of Jesus Christ.

Your contribution will help facilitate our evangelical, training, pastors and youth conferences in Repalle. The Pastors gather to hear guest speakers, preach, praise and pray. It is a time of encouragement, as well as many of these pastors, work in small remote village churches and some in home churches. Once a year the Repalle Church travels around from village to village with a tent top, generator, PA system, and food. They celebrate and encourage the local pastors and the brethren.

TV Evangelism

The messages at our Sunday services, conferences, and retreats are recorded and broadcast on TV throughout India, inviting prayer requests and greater awareness of our ministry. IREF is in partnership with “Subhavaartha” (Good News) TV. Every morning a program called “Jeevaharam” (Bread of Life) is made available to 80 million people in India. Through satellite distribution, it has recently aired in 175 countries worldwide. The television medium is an incredibly effective tool for sharing the gospel in India.
