Thanks to IREF’s efforts and dedication over the past four decades, more than 20,000 children have escaped the cycle of poverty, finding education and empowerment both inside and outside the classroom. We currently care for more than 4,000 children in three locations, educating and inspiring India’s future leaders and teachers.
IREF works with children who need a safe place and deserve a better life. Some children have been abandoned or sold into slavery or prostitution while others come from families that are unable to support more than one child. They are all welcome and safe at IREF.
We provide food, clothing, shelter, health care, education and Christian love—the building blocks of a good life. Children are provided with a foundation of faith and education to last a lifetime.
And for only $35 a month, you can help a child transition from poverty to success. You can help provide scholarships, support education and literally change lives. To learn more about sponsoring a child and changing lives, please click here for more information.
If home is where the heart is, then IREF’s Children’s Home is truly home sweet home for many children in India.
Established in 1985 by Prasada and Lydia Rao to help support children in need in India, the Children’s Home currently houses more than 1,000 students, including underprivleged children who have been abandoned or sold into slavery or prostitution.
Children live in clean, safe dormitories and are given the opportunity of a lifetime in India—education from primary school through college. You can sponsor a child—helping provide funds for food and shelter and education—so that they can truly live a better life.
